Oedipus and the Sphinx Performance

Oedipus and the Sphinx Performance

I was a statue in the oracle scene where i had to move my masking and repeat what the oracle was saying.
For the king and queen of Corinth scene i was a guard and i said "Stop right there! What is that?"in a loud, tough kind of British accent.
I think the sphinx seen was the most successful because we knew what we were going to say at the same time in a very load voice in different levels of tone without forget the words in the riddle to make it as if the head is speaking with echos inside it and not saying something and the echo saying another. We were trying to show the audience that the sphinx was guarding the city from outsiders and not letting anyone out or in unless they solve the riddle and the sphinx dying.I thought that it was good because nobody forgot the words and we said it at the same time loud and clear also the dying part where we all fall on the ground pretending to be died.

Greek Theatre

Oedipus and the Sphinx

Scene One: The shepherd finds the baby

 The shepherd: Rania and Chaeyon
The sheep: Sophia, Anahit and Abdullah
The tree: Me (Zeina)

The shepherd finds a baby crying in-front of a tree and he had a swollen foot.

We used the big box as the bottom part of the tree and the small box as the crib for the baby.

I had to make wind noises and move my hands to make it as if the branches were moving/waving.

Scene Two: The shepherd takes the baby to the King and Queen of Corinth

The two Guards: Ahahit and me(Zeina)

The King of Corinth: Abdullah
The Queen of Corinth: Sophia
The Shepherd: Chaeyon and Rania

The shepherd decides to bring the baby to the king and queen of Corinth which they accept and name him "Oedipus" which means swollen foot.

We used two boxes as thrones for the king and queen, the small box as the crib for the baby and two sticks for the quards to use as their weapon or spear.

i had to stop the shepherd from coming in by making an X with the other guard with our spears so they wouldn't come in without us informing the king and queen.
